Roxianna´s Webseite

Die Burg Hardenstein wurde zwischen 1345 und 1354 als Wasserburg erbaut. Zwischen 1430 und 1440 wurde die Burg mit 2 flankierenden Türmen und einer Schildmauer an der Südseite erweitert. Nachdem die Burg ab dem 18.Jahrhundert  nicht mehr in Gebrauch und auch nicht mehr bewohnt war, verfiel die Anlage.

1974 wurde die Burg von der Stadt Herbede gepachtet und seit 1975 gehört sie zur Stadt Witten.
